§ Terms

Terms of Use

Effective 2026-06-12. These terms govern this website. They are short because the site is simple.

What this site is

This website is informational. It describes Summit Cognitive, Inc., our platform, and our published standards. Nothing here is an offer, a warranty, or legal, compliance, or security advice for your situation. The content is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — and while we work hard to keep it accurate, we do not promise it is error-free or current at the moment you read it.

Our specifications are open

The specifications we publish — listed at our standards page — are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, adapt, and implement them, including commercially, provided you attribute Summit Cognitive. We want them adopted; that is the point of publishing them.

Trademarks

Summit Cognitive, the Summit name, and our product names and logos are trademarks of Summit Cognitive, Inc. The CC BY 4.0 license on our specifications covers the text of the specifications — it does not grant rights to our marks or imply that we endorse your implementation.

Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully. Do not probe, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it or to our other systems — if you believe you have found a security issue, see our responsible disclosure process instead. Specifically: do not scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect decision receipts, data feeds, or other platform outputs for machine-learning training without our written permission. Verifying individual receipts through our published verification tools is always welcome — that is what they are for.

Linked and external systems

Our platform, demo environments, and documentation are separate systems with their own terms; where you have a customer agreement with us, that agreement controls your use of the platform, not this page.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summit Cognitive, Inc. is not liable for damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or the information on it.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If we change these terms, we will update the effective date above. Questions go to brian@summitcognitive.ai.
